John R. Carter: bradley was hit by an i.e.d. in route -- enroute to save these pilots. kyle was due home for r&r two weeks before his death and six weeks before his 24th birthday. kyle received the purple heart and bronze star among his awards. he was also honored with a valor award from delta.
