Mario Diaz-Balart

1:27:53 to 1:28:13( Edit History Discussion )

Mario Diaz-Balart: without objection. >> thank you, mr. speaker. the administration and this congress spent over $1 trillion on the so-called stimulus bill and they laid down a benchmark for what would constitute success. they did it. according to their own benchmark, that was that unemployment would be capped at 8%, and that there would be an immediate creation of 3.5 million jobs.

Mario Diaz-Balart

1:28:14 to 1:28:35( Edit History Discussion )

Mario Diaz-Balart: where are those 3.5 million jobs we were promised? not only have they not been created, an additional two million jobs or more have been lost sincehat bill was passed and unemployment wasn't capped at 8%. it's over 9.5%, again. their own numbers. so what's been the response to this obvious dismal failure?

Mario Diaz-Balart

1:28:36 to 1:28:55( Edit History Discussion )

Mario Diaz-Balart: more of the same. more borrowing, more spending of your hard-earned money. their health care bill will cost americans an additional $1.2 trillion, cut me senior citizens by hundreds of billions of dollars, that's in the bill. and will result in a loss of an additional 4.7 million jobs.
