Peter A. DeFazio: >> it's hard to reform health care, you've at goth to take on some of the special interests in america. perhaps that's why it's been 139 days since the republican leadership announced they'd have an alternative but don't have one yet. perhaps it's because at the heart of this is the insurance industry. most people don't know, but the republicans do know ry well, health insurance industry is exempt from antitrust law.

Peter A. DeFazio

1:32:15 to 1:32:36( Edit History Discussion )

Peter A. DeFazio: they do not have to play by the same rules as another they can and do co-lewd to jack up rates. they can and do collude to divide markets and exclude kmp they can do -- and exclude competition. they're outside the antitrust law of of the un america.

Peter A. DeFazio

1:32:37 to 1:32:50( Edit History Discussion )

Peter A. DeFazio: the democratic bill will repeal this unfair antitrust exemption, bring real competition to this industry or the first time since the 1940's. the republicans don't want to touch that with a 100-foot pole or maybe a $10,000 contribution.
